Scholars of Greek mythology are still involved in a debate called the Homeric Question, which explores the theories of whether there really was a Homer or not. And is he was, did he write the Iliad, especially, since many scholars believe that he was a blind bard? What do you think?

The Iliad means song of Ilium (another name for Troy. Yet the very first lines of the epic indicate that it is about Achilles, son of Peleus.

Also, the epic ends on a eulogy of Hector. What do you think Homer was trying to tell his countrymen?
